I believe that your nails can express your personality and style.
I’ve never been very good at doing my nails, and I always envied those who could paint their nails well. I have always been blessed with nails that grow long pretty quickly, and they seemed like perfect canvasses! I had purchased a gel nail polish kit, and one day I just thought… I’m going to master that.
I started experimenting, and found that nail art was a creative outlet that I could do at pretty much any time of the day or night, with minimal set up, unlike other crafts I had done in the past. I began experimenting with regular nail polish, and different nail art styles.
I quickly became interested in the ingredients and ethics of nail polish (cosmetics) brands, as well as learning about nail care products. This is how I became interested in Independant or “indie” nail polish brands, whose small-batch creations contained ingredients that were vegan, and cruelty-free as a result of being handmade & handpoured.
I started sharing my nail creations on Facebook to my family and friends, and found a community on Instagram of nail art lovers.
I’ve shared my nail art on many different modalities including Twitch, YouTube and TikTok, but recently I’ve come to enjoy teaching others how to create nail art. It’s usually pretty easy, and I want people to know how doing this art is more available to them than they realise.
In addition to nail art, I really love all things nail care. I started my own line of organic, vegan & cruelty-free cuticle oil to help others achieve long, strong & healthy nails, but unfortunately my timing of creating this business was just before the pandemic hit. My little business was unsuccessful, partly due to that, and partly due to the constant price-gauging, I mean price-rising of Australia Post who seem determined to kill off small businesses in this country. Anyway, I digress.
Fast-forward to 2023, I’ve started this blog, I’ve rebranded all my social medias to Easy Nail.Art. I’ve moved from Brisbane to regional Queensland with my husband, my dog and my cat, and I’m focussing on finding my audience who want to learn all things nail polish, nail care and nail art.
